Is Prop. 8 to Blame for Newsom Being Behind in the Polls?
According to a recent poll conducted by the DailyKos, Attorney General Jerry Brown, leads 29% to 20% over his closest Democratic competitor, Gavin Newsom, the Mayor of San Francisco. Although this will be Brown’s second run at the California governorship, many still place him as the front runner. Newsom howevere seem to be gaining ground on his rival according to various other polls and campaigns sources.

Comments (2)Brown is going to take this election. He is more pragmatic and not just when it comes to social issues. Gavin Newsom has done a lot for the city of San Francisco including supporting gay rights. I think he would make a great governor for the state, but I do agree that he is very unpopular in the southern part of the state where the Democratic base is much more socially conservative than what you find in Northern California. |
