Jobs in the Wind Energy Sector

There has been a lot of bashing about the lack of jobs in the wind energy sector, but lets not forget that this industry barely existed 5 years ago.  People have to remember that this is such a new industry and subsequent industry job growth is going to take time.  Wind energy is clean, reliable, and the core technology has been in existence for decades.  Wind may not have the growth potential of solar, but the two years have shown that energy diversity is the key to America's new energy policy, and wind power is going to be a big part of that.

California public policy is encouraging the development of new wind farms by mandating that a third of our energy be wind powered within the next 10-15 years.  Wind farms are still only centered around a half dozen locations within the state.  There is so much room for growth.  Of course politics and legislation can be partly blamed for holding back business with unnecessary bureaucracy.

Below is a great video that talks about the potential jobs market around wind energy.
