Edward P. Hernandez

• Biography:

  Assemblyman Ed Hernandez, O.D. represents the 57th Assembly District. The district includes the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, La Puente and West Covina.

  Assemblyman Hernandez’s legislative priority is working toward providing health insurance for the uninsured in California.

  A native of La Puente, Hernandez attended local schools and graduated from Bassett High School. An optometrist by training, Hernandez has donated his time and professional skills to the community by providing free eye care to low-income children and working with the local schools to examine the eyes of thousands of school children. He also has given free care to at-risk diabetic patients.

  Hernandez is married to Diane, also an optometrist, and they have two daughters. The Hernandez family resides in West Covina.
